6th place at Pontins '97 |
This year the band entered the Pontins contest
held at Prestatyn Sands. Despite (in our opinion) not playing
the test piece, Four Preludes by Eric Ball, as well as we hoped
we might we still achieved a creditable sixth place in the Third
section.
This achievement follows the acquision recently of a full set of instruments after a successful National Lottery Bid. Roland Deakin, our chairman, has kindly prepared a document outlining his experiences during the application process. If you are considering an application, or would like to find out a bit more about what is involved, please look at his page.
We will update the band photo with one showing the new equipment as soon as we have a decent one to show.
